Half Term???

avenanap · 11/02/2008 15:14

. That's not unreasonable. Half a bottle of gin is more unreasonable.
Are you having a bad day?

JossStick · 11/02/2008 15:15

She didn't say how large it was though.

JingleyJen · 11/02/2008 15:17

Go for it.
My HV says it ia fine to have a gin at lunchtime as long as there is tonic with it and as long as it isn't out of a paper bag

I like my HV!

avenanap · 11/02/2008 15:19

Haa. Mine would have reported me to social services. You're not talking about half the bottle are you?

bambam30 · 11/02/2008 15:22

lol all of you no it was just a regular shot with a regular splash of tonic - i am however having a not so good day as some of you may remember my dh got made redundant last week and he gone off out with a friend [which i know he is allowed to do ] but i think today i just feel like that so hence the g&t

I had had a bad few weeks with DS1 being attacked at school and mentioned in passing to the HV that I had had a few days where lunchtime drink was G&T she grinned and checked about the tonic and the brown paper bag.

Hope your Dh manages to find a new job soon and that he has had a good lunch (he probably needs to let off some steam too!) Good luck

auntyspan · 11/02/2008 15:35

God no. Anything after 9am is fine by me

avenanap · 11/02/2008 15:37

Oh. That's not good.Have a bit more. No one will blame you (not that I'm condoning binge drinking).
Things always have a way of working out for the best. It can be very traumatic when things turn sour but good always comes out of it in the long run.

JJ: Sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope that she's ok. You deserve a G&T aswell.

glinda · 11/02/2008 15:37

Oh god, I wish you hadn't given me the idea!
Is half term a good enough excuse?

avenanap · 11/02/2008 15:44

Hell, yes. Half term is soo stressful. My son's school's on half term aswell. All the other schools where we live have half term next week so he's got to go to Uni with me. I shall be needing a hip flask . There are no activities for him to do either because they are all next week.
