So I'm just sitting by myself on my birthday evening - my husband says he's tired and went to bed even though my mum and dad are looking after our little boy

I'm a bit sad but I'm no special age so I guess it doesn't really matter

Well when my dh ruined my 40th birthday (by making it all about him as it wasn't fair the day be just about me apparently ) he was an exh before I turned 41..

I'm SO sorry for the fact that you're spending the evening of your birthday alone OP, your DH sounds like a miserable shit, going to bed early on your special day. OK, it may not be a milestone birthday, but he could at least make the effort to stay up with you, even if he didn't feel up to going out to celebrate. Is everything OK in your relationship, or is this selfish behaviour normal for him? If it is, then I'd be seriously debating if this is what I'm happy to settle for in life, no matter how old you are.

Happy birthday! And sorry you had to celebrate alone. My birthdays are pretty uneventful. Turning 60 today and nothing special happening. I did get a card and some chocolate from my husband. Better than nothing I guess? 🎉🤷🏻‍♀️
