Husband doesn't believe me about porn

We are both late 40s and been together for 28 years. DH doesn't use porn (I do believe him about this)

We have a teenage son.

DH's attitude to porn very much based on Razzle and 70s underwear catalogues.

This morning I said that there were things is was shocked by that young people think normalised in sex that I would never consider.

I mentioned choking, and how this was now something that occurs that would never have done in the 90s.

He then was very patronising and said that wasn't true.

Can you find me some statistics on this without me having to Google 'choking during sex'

You might find this useful OP. It's a program to help parents raise porn resistant and resilient children. It's the first of its kind, took two years to develop and is completely free to access.

@Scout2016 I read that too in an article in the Guardian recently. Doctors were seeing large increase in female patients presenting with injuries following anal sex, more prevalent now anal is becoming normalised in male/female sexual relationships via porn - the concern was that male and female anatomy and physiology is very different and while male rectum etc (not sure of exact body part apologies) can stand up to anal sex, female anatomy is just different and can’t withstand the same thing.

sorry - tried to phrase that as delicately as possible.

Just had a look at the Childrens Commissioner report PP posted. ‘51% of girls aged 16-21 had been sent or shown explicit content involving someone they know in real life (in comparison with 33% of boys)’

It’s hell out there for young people at the
moment. i am grateful I grew up just before social media took off in a massive way and I am glad my DS is still currently too young for all this shit

If someone I was with got turned on by putting their hands round someone’s throat - even if it was consensual- I’d be thinking there was something seriously wrong with them.

Okay then 🤣

Thanks for sharing this, I hadn't seen it before. This whole area terrifies me and I can't believe how many people refuse to see, or want to minimise, the issues.

Oh I see, he may not believe strangulation "breathe play" (NOTHING playful about it) happened in the 90s?

Well it happened to me in 1999. I was 18. I thought I was going to die. The guy didn't take his hand off me until he came. Presumably my panic was the turn on.

@daretodenim I'm so, so sorry that happened to you. I've been there too.

Jesus!

I wonder how many parents ignore porn and it’s problems and don’t talk to their kids about it, at all.
