Who picks up child?

Just wondering, out of curiosity, if separated from child's father, who usually collects from child's mother?

Is it the biological father? Their partner? Family friend? Other family member etc?

I usually drop the children off, he takes them home.
We are on really good terms though so would think nothing of doing each other favours and swapping things around.

Any of them depending on the circumstances? No one can answer this with no context?

The father I would assume as the mum may not know or recognise someone else that he tried to send in his place. You can’t handover to a stranger.

If my children's dad was due pick up children from mine I would be a bit put out of someone else randomly turned up if it was always me and I'd been given no notice....but if it wasnt unsusual forcsomeone else to come I wouldn't be too bothered, so his girlfriend, friend, sisters fella, new MIL. I don't necessarily think it has to be him. If we lived quite a distance apart, so a 2hr plus journey id be surprised if it wasn't him though. On the other side I don't think it would be unacceptable for me to call him Sunday eve and say im running late and lm unsure if ill be back on time. Can you drop the boys round Katarinas and ill get them from there.

Is there a reason you ask? Has someone new turned up?

Some context, lives around 2 hours from me.
Recently sending partner to collect.
Often at late times, 6/7pm for example.
Is off work so has no clear reason to not pick up
