Snow and nurseries?

It’s snowing! But will nurseries be open? I haven’t had an update from them but it’s early. I really need to do some work today.

No one can answer this. It will depend on how much snow, whether staff can get in - travel wise and if schools have closed they may have their kids. They can’t open if they don’t have the right ratios. Also what the forecast is like.
They also may open and close early if it continues to snow to make sure the children can get picked up and staff can get home.
I think expecting to have heard something now is ridiculous. Most people will still be asleep! You don’t hear about school closures until nearer 8am!

I wasn't expecting an update at 5am, but drop off is at 8am so am hoping it's before then. I've looked out and although there's quite a lot of snow on the paths the roads seem ok.

It depends where the staff live, whether they can get there etc.

We sometimes got updates from our nursery literally just as we were about to set off on snow days. Ratios-wise it can be hard for them to know what situation they're dealing with until they know how many staff have actually made it in.

It's hardly blizzard conditions! I'm pretty sure they will be open!

I work in a nursery and we would never close for snow.
