Strike situation

So the nurses, ambulance drivers and paramedics, fire fighters and now RMT have all paused strikes due to offers of funded pay increases. Gillian Keegan is saying that the NEU is being negative by not doing the same but is not even offering to have proper pay talks and has proposed an increase next year that will come out of school budgets and will cause schools to cut whatever they can wherever they can.

I have an honest feeling that there will be no offer. Teachers are marmite to the public and press and so they will get away with offering nothing. What will the unions do? We can't keep having strike days if it does nothing but take away our pay and keep some children out of school. In the meantime the real issue of underfunded schools and lack of teachers in subjects that are needed will just be hidden under the pile on and it will be the children who suffer.

Please people, email your MPs and ask them what they are going to do about funding schools. If you don't feel teachers deserve any more money then fine but make your voices heard about our leaky, mouldy, falling apart school buildings, lack of basic resources such as paper, pencils and tissues, lack of support for our most needy children. Don't let this reality be ignored or pushed aside. Your children deserve better.
I'm done.
