Going on holiday alone?

Been dating a lovely man for 7 months. He has one adult child that doesn't live with him. I have a ds 7 and dd 10, I have them full time as their dad is not capable due to mental health and alcohol.
My dp has booked a week away to a cottage for himself and his dog. I feel a bit gutted that he didn't even ask me to go with the kids even for a weekend. It feels like it's something you would do together by now. AIBU?

YABU. Book your own holiday with your dc and invite him along if you're that bothered.

No way would I want to be taking my children away on holiday with a chap I’d known 7months anyway. He sounds like the responsible parent in this scenario op

It sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Alone, a nice relaxing time with his dog. The whole experience would be entirely different with two children. It sounds like you are at different stages in your life.

If you want to go away with him and your children why don’t you organise it as an additional break?
