I posted in the parenting section and didn't get any replies, and i'm desperate so i'm posting hopefully on here.
Ds2 has always been a high needs/energy child, but since he turned 3 at the beginning of December his behaviour has escalated. I know tantrums are normal as they can't always regulate emotion and express themselves, but i'm just at a loss how to navigate through them. He shouts, hits, scratches and throws anything in reach, i've tried thinking time where i sit with him, don't sit with him, holding him till he calms, ignoring the behaviour and NOTHING works. I can deal with his not so good listening skills, the needing me all the time, his erm bossiness and strong headedness but i don't know how to deal with these tantrums. Never mind the terrible twos, the threenager is here with a vengeance!! Someone please help!!

Do you still have a health visitor?
Is he at preschool, and if so, what do they say?

we haven't seen the hv since his 2 year assessment. he goes to nursery 5 afternoons per week for 3 hours a day, his behaviour is fine whilst he's at nursery.

I'd call your local Early help team. They will
Be able to tell you what support is on offer
