You've had a roast dinner at 2pm. Would you want to eat again before bed?

Big roast with all the trimmings - pork with crackling, 3 veg, Yorkshire puds, stuffing, gravy, bread to dip ect.

Would you want anything before bed, apart from a cup or tea or two?

YABU - yes i'd want/need to eat again.
YANBU - nope, that would do me for the rest of the day.

It’s not healthy to skip meals

Perhaps you might read up on intermittent fasting?

I’ve read plenty about it and plenty of evidence that binge restrict cycles are what causes weight gain long term.

MobyJeff · 05/03/2023 20:11

Definitely wouldn’t eat again before bed, and I don’t eat breakfast so it would be midday following before I had more than a cup of tea.

MoreSleepPleasee · 05/03/2023 20:11

If I ate at 2pm I'd need another meal or picky food in the evening

countdowntonap · 05/03/2023 20:13

Surely it depends on how you spend your day?
A slovenly day around the house…. You’d feel awfully sticky, especially with that addition of bread at the end of the email.

Starting the day with a 10km run and a leisurely walk of a few miles after lunch, if want some dinner.

Nothing

I've not come across 'binge restrict cycles' nor am I looking to lose of gain weight.

I was simply responding to your quote that 'it is unhealthy to skip meals'. That is not true - it sounds s actually very healthy to give your body a long period (16 hrs) without eating.

Reddahlias · 05/03/2023 20:15

Sorry is (not sounds)

poppetposieandfun · 05/03/2023 20:16

I'd likely serve something with a cuppa like a couple biscuits & cheese etc. Probably around 7-8 pm.

BrendaWearingBaffies · 05/03/2023 20:19

Yes. Bowl of porridge at around 8pm.

Last week we went and had a carvery about 4pm. Didn't eat again until 3pm the next day. Just too full!

Bloody hell, how much did you eat? Did you keep eating even after you were full? I can’t do that, I get to ‘comfortably full’ then stop. So I’ll always need another meal within 5-6 hours.

PurpleFlower1983 · 05/03/2023 20:21

Yes I would.

OoooohMatron · 05/03/2023 20:22

I wouldn't have another meal but maybe an evening snack

FelicityFlops · 05/03/2023 20:23

I do not really understand your question.
Do you mean after a Sunday lunch at 2pm would you need to eat again?
Personally, probably not.

jackstini · 05/03/2023 20:24

I would - but I would not have the slice of bread at the end of the dinner. That is just not needed after meat, veg, potatoes etc.

Slice of toast or cheese and biscuits about 8 would do it
Or we have pudding at 6/7ish if we were too full after dinner!

bouncydog · 05/03/2023 20:24

Definitely not. That would keep me full until the morning.

SherbetDips · 05/03/2023 20:25

I’d prob have some cheese and biscuits or something.

I would go and see a doctor if I was still full so long after a meal. Something isn’t working as it should be.

IncompleteSenten · 05/03/2023 20:27

Yes.

Laiste · 05/03/2023 17:30

Really?
At the end of dinner - slice of white bread plonked onto plate and a bit more gravy poured on and spread around and press it to soak it up and ... yum 😄

This what Yorkshire puddings are for.

fajitaaaa · 05/03/2023 20:28

I'm tempted to make up some bisto now to try with bread

Justalittlebitduckling · 05/03/2023 20:30

Probably a bowl of cereal

WandaWonder · 05/03/2023 20:30

Not another full meal but yes some food

Hellybelly84 · 05/03/2023 20:31

If we have a big roast at lunch, I usually feel like cheese and crackers or something small in the evening. We do this at the grandparents quite often (big roast at lunchtime) and i’ll give the kids a picnic tea when we get back (wraps, crisps, cheese etc) and we’ll just have something small later on.

bread to dip

Eh? You serve bread with a massive roast dinner???

I can't believe i got so far down the comments before anyone said this 😅

Chatterboxy · 05/03/2023 20:32

Done exactly this & had 3 spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce at 7.30pm! Could eat again, but won’t! 🤦‍♀️😅
