I'm going away soon for 14 days. I've never been away for this length of time before. It's usually been between 2 and 10 days.

What's the longest time you have been on holiday for ?

4 weeks to Thailand. Next year I'm taking my 3 year old to asia for 2 months so that will be the longest then :)

Three weeks to a relative abroad, when I was a student. Otherwise no more than two weeks.

I tend to do no more than a week to 10 days, so can have more holidays!

3 months. Then came back packed up and moved there for 15 years.

I go back to London three times a year for a week at a time but don’t consider that a holiday because I was born and raised in London. I absolutely detest short breaks (excluding London) because by the time you’ve got into the swing of things, you have to go home. Ohh and I’m not a fan of staycations either because it doesn’t feel like a holiday if the shops are the same as the shops in your home city.

Apart from London, we don’t go away every year, I’d rather save up and go somewhere long haul, preferably where the cost of living is relatively cheap.

3 weeks, but that was driving round Europe to various places. A few friends had things going on in different European cities (birthday parties, stag/hen do’s, festivals etc), so we decided to just drive round them all, with a few days stopping somewhere nice in between. It was awesome.

6 weeks to Oz over 20 years years ago, in my very first year of working. I saved up my annual leave and had it right at the end of the financial year, so I could run it into the next year's allocation. I only had 1½ days leave over the other 18 months which looking back I'd NEVER manage these days!

4 or 5 months after uni.

We do three weeks in the summer every year.

I'd happily do longer (no shit Grin) but the cat won't be enjoying her stay in the cattery as much, so that remains the longest time we'll do while we have her. We did two weeks in Crete one year followed by two weeks in Bali, we had to shuttle the poor cat from cattery one to cattery two in the 24 hours between trips. Don't intend to do that again but it was a rare opportunity we couldn't miss.

We usually have ten days in one place then eleven in the next, so it feels like two concurrent holidays.

3 months. First class rail pass with a backpack and travelled around Europe. Was amazing! Met so many people.

Lunionfaitlaforce · 05/03/2023 18:09

Off every summer for 10 weeks (schools closed where we live) and 3 weeks off around Xmas.

cakewitch · 05/03/2023 18:10

5 weeks. South America.

philautia · 05/03/2023 18:19

Three months in SE Asia.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 05/03/2023 19:27

7 weeks when we moved cities and went travelling to Thailand and Vietnam in between.
