My mum will be celebrating her 70th birthday at the end of April, my parents will be coming to stay with us (we live abroad)
It will hopefully be warm ish when they’re here (not guaranteed though)
We live by the beach and there are restaurants/cafes, really nice but we generally go to these places anyway when they visit.
I’m planning to order a special cake up be made and maybe buy her a lovely piece of jewellery..diamond necklace perhaps.
What else can I/we do to make it extra special? We have a 4 year old Dd, who’s great, but very active 🙈and won’t sit well for long lunches/dinners in fancy places.

Any amazing ideas?

I think what you have planned sounds delightful. Your mum is choosing a visit to you for her celebration so that suggests to me what she will like most for her birthday is to be with you all in the 'usual' way. A photograph of her, you and DD framed beautifully would be lovely. I'm not as old as your mum, but my 3 generations picture with DD and DGD recieved for my 50th was my favourite gift, and something I treasure.
