Was I a bad friend?

I went out for dinner last night with two friends and one told us that she’s moving it’s not too far away but I’ll go from living 10 minutes drive from her to a 40/50 minute drive.

I just said oh no, you can’t leave. It was completely jokey such as the same way a colleague you like moves to a new job, you’re sad they’re leaving but happy for them too. (Other friend said similar etc)

Friend got visibly annoyed and when we tried to bring it back we asked to see her new house she just snapped no.

It really ruined the night. We’re of course happy for her and we asked to see the house to get excited for her but because our instant reaction wasn’t the excitement she’s now upset.

No, she's being ridiculous.

I suspect she has mixed feelings herself about the move.

Why is she moving - do you approve of the reason? Would she be expecting more of a congrats than a joke?

Give her some time to cool off, and get in touch and ask her what's up?
