if thw police or ambulance knocked the door right now would your house be OK to let them in?

if there was a fire (not blocking exits) or a family emergency/ trip to a and e needed right now could you get out of the house or everyone dressed and out relatively easily and quickly?

An emergency bag?! An emergency is an emergency not something you particularly plan for surely. I can understand from, say, 35 weeks pregnant having a bag packed but otherwise not. I have a DS who has had multiple broken bones and hospital trips too and all the food and drink machines take Apple Pay.

If I had an emergency bag ready it would have to be in front of the front door or DH wouldn't remember where it was and that I had one.

OMG reminds me when we moved house and the removal men pulled out the washing machine and found a pair of blood stained knickers… left them up on the work top!! I walked in the kitchen and saw them sitting there! I mean who does that?! I was actually mortified, cried to my husband and couldn’t face them again! I mean it’s natural and can’t be helped but I was so embarrassed! It wouldn’t happen to a man.. well unless he shit his pants 😆

oh no! imagine you were single and couldn't get dh to deal with them!

Actually I do have a funny non emergency story 😂
when we had not long first moved in we had loads of letters for Mr doesn't live here anymore and the bailiffs came a knocking just as I'd stripped all the beds and chucked all the bedding down the stairs so I had dirty bloody sheets (my kids! They all have nosebleeds, I hadn't had a period in over a year due to pregnancy and breastfeeding) and they wouldn't leave and was stood in the hallway while I was looking for proof of ID for me and DH (dh had his driving licence with him so I had to find birth certificates and proof of address) All the while blood soaked sheets on the stairs. Not in a pile, strewn all over as I just chucked them down along with other washing. They must have thought I was a right tramp, leaving washing on the stairs.
at least it wasn't my debt 😅

My son is a paramedic, the state of your house is the last thing he worries about! 🤣

That's disgusting. Sorry but why did your kids all have nosebleeds at the same time?

My house is always tidy. Me and husband both naturally neat and tidy people which helps. Would have no qualms about police or ambulance…or even the MN dreaded unexpected visitor 😂
Having a hospital bag ready just in case is crackers 😁 I could grab phone, charger, handbag with bank cards etc in about 10 seconds.
