Were my expectations for this deep clean too high?

Got a deep clean that covered "the baseboards, floors, walls, ceilings, fans, blinds, inside & outside all appliances, every bathroom and every room". This was the end result of that clean and I don't feel that the service was completed. Can I have some non-biased opinions? Particularly if you're in the cleaning profession. I have over 30 pictures, but I can only attach 5.

Thank you!

Are they online anywhere you can leave a review for them?

anonuser63732 · 28/02/2023 19:20

It's 1500sq - they spent about 5-6 hours on the first visit and between 2-3 on the second visit. I told them not to worry about cleaning the insides of the kitchen cabinets or the inside of the fridge, or the closet in our bedroom. It wasn't until after we had paid they said they don't clean things that are brought into the house eg shelves aren't dusted, coffee bar not dusted etc.

No that’s crazy then, they should have cleaned your house top to bottom including dusting and cleaning furniture etc. for reference, I clean a four bed large detached house with three bathrooms, one downstairs loo, large hallway, large kitchen diner, utility room and lounge in four hours every two weeks. Yes you may have needed longer to get on top of things so an extra hour. That includes dusting everything, cleaning mirrors, the lot.

Sparkleshine21 · 28/02/2023 19:31

Although I certainly wouldn’t clean inside someone’s wardrobe or fridge and I’ve never been asked to, so there is that

Yes - I posted a factual review with pictures and she's taking me to court for defamation 🙂So I will be counter-suing for breach of contract. From England originally and while I love it here mostly, the suing culture is ridiculous. Thanks for all the replies - I didn't think I was being unreasonable!

Do you have before photos?

Well I would say they're exactly the same as the after photos, to be honest!

user567543 · 02/03/2023 17:19

Well she really doesn't have a leg to stand on, how crazy!

WonderingWanda · 02/03/2023 17:27

Crikey that's really bad. The toilet doesn't even look like it's been cleaned

LifeExperience · 02/03/2023 17:33

I'm American and the price was outrageous! That's not even a regular clean, much less a deep clean.

I'm so sorry you're being sued. That's ridiculous. Counter-claim for lawyers' fees and court costs, too.

£275?!?! 😱😱😱 You are DEFINITELY not being unreasonable!!!

I'm always stunned at what people pay their cleaners in the US!

Not even a basic clean OP, never mind a deep one.

Just wanted to update! Didn't get to file my countersue until the day before the original court date (was totally valid, just a little last minute). When we get to the courtroom she finds out I'd counterclaimed and requests to reschedule. Went back for the next court date a few weeks later and she asks to raise her claim amount due to my last-minute counterclaim. Judge dismissed it - win for me.

To sum it up, she lied in the courtroom about a few things (can't prove it unfortunately as all verbal) but the judge schooled her on the 1st amendment and freedom of speech. Said that I was allowed to leave negative reviews and tell the whole world about how bad I thought the clean was as long as it was factual or opinion which mine was.

There was a lovely cleaner who offered to redo it for free because she was so mad about the whole situation. I didn't take her up on it, but I will be using her for our move-out clean in a few months. Also booked some cleaning lessons with her as I'm naff at it.

Thanks for the opinions everyone!
