...to think that the fabric, literally, of society, literally is falling apart, literally?

Further to the outrage I noted last year of PG Tips putting less tea in each bag than they used to - and I think this was established as fact, although the rioting in the streets that I predicted never actually came to pass, which I blame on recent legislation against civil protest, it's bloody Priti Patel we have to thank for that...er..where was I? Oh, yeah, teabags. I've noticed that the manufacturing quality of pyramid teabags has plummetted. About one in four of them break in the mug these days, even just given a little gentle swirl. I mean, it appears that they're making the bags out of some kinda stuff that disintegrates in hot water. That can only be a deliberate attempt to break the spirit of the ordinary person.

I may have to switch to Yorkshire Tea. And I'm from London. Yes! I know! The situation is that dire. It's a sign of the End Times, I'm telling you. Dark forces are at work...

I remove any tea out of bags and use it like loose leaf. Granted they use the dregs for the bags but I find I use less tea. I have twinings lady grey.

YABVU Ffs, you can’t use the word ‘literally’ three times in one sentence, unless you’re between the ages of 13-17. It’s the law, blame Patel. That’s not a thread title, it’s a literary abomination.

Also, Tetley teabags are fine 🤷‍♀️

Shesasuperfreak · 04/03/2023 20:21

Are you me?
PG tips have been shot for about a year. I've had enough and switched to Yorkshire.
I will never go back.

You need to switch to Ringtons - the king of tea

Absolutely and I live in Yorkshire!!

oknowimscared · 04/03/2023 22:36

Don’t switch to Yorkshire Tea. It’s the embodiment of the downfall of the country. It’s not what it was. And I’m from Yorkshire. It’s a shocking state of affairs. I’m having to drink Tetley tea now.

JackiePlace · 04/03/2023 22:39

I stopped drinking PG Tips years ago when they started using chimps in sailor suits in their adverts.

Yes. Dorset Tea and it's far superior.

Totally. It’s all about Dorset Tea.
cant drink anything else now

Viviennemary · 04/03/2023 22:48

I didn't even realise they still made those pyramid tea bags. They are an outrage. What annoys me the most are these ready meals you have to peel back film half way through cooking and stir it. If I wanted to mess about stirring stuff I would cook from scratch. Grrrr.

Jo586 · 05/03/2023 00:35

Society is falling apart, energy, inflation, food shortages, strikes, huge social costs from non working scroungers who all seem to have a 'valid' reason not to work. teabags are the least of your problems.

Emotionalstorm · 05/03/2023 01:43

Society is not falling apart it's just that we are mentally weaker than we used to be and more entitled.

😂😂👏

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 05/03/2023 10:00

YABU not to use artisan leaf tea. I think society began to crumble when people stopped having butlers, footmen and proper tea from a warmed pot.

And not adding 'one for the pot'

helibirdcomp · 05/03/2023 14:14

Loose tea, teapot, tea strainer. Fabric of society fixed the old fashioned way.

artsperson · 05/03/2023 17:29

Things are going badly wrong. This afternoon Waitrose had no Burrata, I had to make do with Mozzarella!

What a shock. Can you have a lie down? 😉

I literally can’t be bothered to scroll back up but I agree about the new paracetamol packaging. It’s literally impossible to get them out without breaking them

I was expecting/hoping this thread to be about the Spitting Image show at the Birmingham Rep. Mission Impossible to save the "Fabric of Society".
