To have a Monday wine?

Just that really. Shitty Monday, hard day at work, feel fed up. So when the kids are in bed should I have a nice glass of red with my spaghetti bolognaise?

God yes - have one! I might join you 😊

Aquamarine1029 · 27/02/2023 18:34

Why wouldn't you?

Starseeed · 27/02/2023 18:34

Wine or whine? Have both! 😊I’m enjoying a glass with dinner.

Mumsanetta · 27/02/2023 18:35

I thought it was healthy to have a glass of red wine everyday?

I don't know really. Weird guilt that it's only Monday 😅

Wine only with meals.
Gin at any time :-)
Stick to the rules!

Xiaoxiong · 27/02/2023 18:37

Unless you've given it up for Lent or have a medical condition, why not? Think of all those nice anti-oxidants.

TaRaDeBumDeAy · 27/02/2023 18:38

I would if I wasn't on a diet/no alcohol stint.

Sarahcoggles · 27/02/2023 18:42

Impossible to answer really. If you have a drink problem and you're trying to limit your alcohol intake to weekends only then it's not a good idea.
If you drink safe alcohol quantities and fancy a glass of wine tonight then that's fine.

BrightSaturn · 27/02/2023 18:42

Do it! Sounds like a wonderful Monday evening.

billy1966 · 27/02/2023 18:47

Absolutely.

I had chocolate for breakfast this morning😁

I can't have chocolate in the evening because I've yet to find a wine that goes with it.

Flamingogirl08 · 27/02/2023 18:58

Yes, it's happening. Also threw a garlic bread in the oven. Carbs and wine for the win 😎

Of course, I nearly always have a glass or two with my evening meal, I never get drunk or go 'out' drinking but enjoy wine with a meal.

Willowtre1 · 27/02/2023 19:00

I am because there was a bottle open from Friday and I'm not in the office tomorrow

QueSyrahSyrah · 27/02/2023 19:04

OP - Yes! A glass or two after a shit day does no harm (unless it's every day, obvs).

Definitely! I’ve a bottle of Riesling cooling in the fridge and I’m so looking forward to a glass with dinner.

Helpmeimtired · 27/02/2023 19:06

I’m pissed now. Treat yo self!

shiningstar2 · 27/02/2023 19:09

I am enjoying my second glass of red as I write. Usually have a glass with dinner most nights. Usually not Thursday or Sunday though ...because they are the nights it's most convenient for us not to have any at all Works for us. 😁

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 27/02/2023 19:25

I don't drink mon-fri, DH though is on rest days and opened the prosecco and I was sooooo tempted to join him. But I know I'd have a fuzzy head tomorrow and I have training to do.

Enjoy the wine OP! You deserve it.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 27/02/2023 19:27

Never! I’ll join you so don’t have to drink alone

Guis · 27/02/2023 19:29

Why not ? Do.

User0610134057 · 27/02/2023 19:31

i buy one bottle of wine a week and normally have it spread over the weekend but still have some left over so I can’t let it go to waste!
admittedly I did go out and drink elsewhere Saturday eve which is probably why!

Yes I have to agree!

I would say yes, but there was a poster a few years ago on here who came with a similar “cheeky glass of wine” post, and it turned out she was a recovering alcohol and had withheld that info.

So absolutely yes, if the only reason why not is that it’s Monday. No, if you’ve actually got a drink problem and just looking for “yes” answers so as to go back on the booze

Jamieleecurtain · 27/02/2023 19:32

Why not? I keep small single serve bottles of wine for this very purpose- so that I don’t have one then think ‘oh well the bottles open anyway’ and have a sore head on the school run (it would only take 2 glasses for me). Although on balance I probably drink slightly more because the little bottles are there so I use them a couple of times a week. Hmmm…
