After trawling the web, all the cool sleepsuits are like £17 or £18 each. The ones I can afford are pale blue. Ds is 9 weeks and I'M SICK OF PALE BLUE!!! How hard would it be to make funky stripes or circles in bright funky colours? But no, it's 'Little Aeroplanes' and 'Cute Puppy' in PALE BLUE.

Rainbow Babies is bright and not too expensive. I like their stuff cos its pretty much unisex which is really unusual now!

Pannacotta · 22/03/2008 18:41

sushistar why not post a wanted ad here on MN? Am sure there will be people wanting to off-load baby clothes and it seems lots of us like bright baby clothes so you should be in luck.

MsPontipine · 22/03/2008 18:58

These are funky and not toooo expensive

Araldia · 22/03/2008 19:26

we get ours made by a lady we met at a festival, she does tie dye baby gros, sleepsuits and t-shirts for £3-5 each. The ones we keep ordering are blue tie dye with my husbands band logo stencilled on in a darker blue, but shes very versatile.

Bouncingturtle · 22/03/2008 19:41

OOh try Ethel Austin - I know it sounds old ladyish but I bought a pack of three "Rocker" themed sleepsuits for £6 from there.
I mean, how cute is this?

Sassafrass · 23/03/2008 07:39

The swedish brand polarn och pyret are apparently starting to sell their clothes through house of fraser. Whenever I go home to sweden I always get clothes for my dd there. Really bright colours and funky patterns. Not super cheap though but the quality is astounding.

ara · 23/03/2008 07:47

i love these clothes

not sure how much they are but someone got our dd a lovely babygro when she was born and i was heartbroken when she grew out of it.

seeker · 23/03/2008 07:51

I bought plain white ones and tie dyed them. Honestly, it's really easy - I PROMISE!

I made some brilliant rainbow ones.

Actually, I wonder if people would buy some if I made them and put them on ebay? What do you think?

Bouncingturtle · 23/03/2008 08:00

That's a pretty good idea! You could offer custom dye jobs as well!

seeker · 23/03/2008 08:03

Hmm - I think I might give it a try. People were always asking where I got them, and I did make them for friends, but I never thought of charging them !

Pannacotta · 23/03/2008 09:21

Acutally POP already sell their range in House of Fraser, agree the quality is amazing and they do lots of lovely bright colours, ofteh do sales as they are quite pricey usually.

you could do vests as well seeker.

SpecialOffer · 23/03/2008 09:56

Wow - nappyaddict some of those sites look amazing...

Raeanne · 23/03/2008 10:37

There is obviously a HUGE gap in the market - you should set up your own business!

www.petit-bateau.us/asp/us/shopping/shopping.list.asp?fid=3&gid=8&lang=us&mscsid=r97kxwrf6rua8hn8njx lmgpa9nahdjqb Petie Bateau have some lovey stuff, but it aint cheap!

Gymboree.com USED to have lovely clothes, but not sure what the prices are or if they still do them.

Try [http://www.stardustkids.co.uk/]
They've got some excellent Punk/Goth/rock baby stuff and the lady who started it was also sick of twee baby clothes!

www.stardustkids.co.uk/

TheAntiFlounce · 23/03/2008 15:54

I don't think Stardust really falls into the "less than a tenner" catagory though

peasoup · 23/03/2008 16:19

StripeyMama- how did you work out the sizing on the Rainbow Babies site? I can't see what age the sizes equate to? I want a baseball shirt for a three year old? Any idea? It looks like a brilliant site. I aslo can't figure out what extra they charge if you're printing a logo and image onto a shirt. I will email them of course but thought you might get back to me quicker than them . I could get really carried away with ordering stuff from there. it's cheap as chips as well.

expatinscotland · 23/03/2008 16:21

i buy them cheap and tie dye them.

a friend of mine is an expert tie-dyer and can also do batik.

TheAntiFlounce · 23/03/2008 17:00

I did batik as a student.

I bet I could work my magic on white t shirts...
