to want funky babygrows/ sleepsuits that cost less than a tenner each?

After trawling the web, all the cool sleepsuits are like £17 or £18 each. The ones I can afford are pale blue. Ds is 9 weeks and I'M SICK OF PALE BLUE!!! How hard would it be to make funky stripes or circles in bright funky colours? But no, it's 'Little Aeroplanes' and 'Cute Puppy' in PALE BLUE.

hm, next,. mothercare, asda, tesco, etc...all have some funky ranges...(not sure what is out there right now, tbh, as my lil ones are older).....so, I really don't think there is a need to go over the top pricewise...

PortAndLemon · 10/02/2008 01:09

Some non-blue stuff here for £10 (and she's offering free postage to MNetters this month with the coupon code "post").

The nice funky stuff is often Scandinavian and wthical and imported in small quantities, hence more expensive.

Would second H&M , not sure for babies but they do some great funky and vibrantly coloured clothes for girls, not too expensive either. Better than next which is fine when you first have a baby but their ranges are so samey year after year, and so much chintz and cutesy crap.

Malene · 10/02/2008 11:33

Have a look at www.kidsshouldbekids.co.uk for bright coloured all in ones. If you enter post in the redeem box you will get free delivery. Please let me know what you think. All the clothes are imported from scandinavia.

Malene · 10/02/2008 11:36

Forgot to say a lot of the clothes featured on www.kidsshouldbekids.co.uk are in the new ELC catalogue

susumama.co.uk do tie dyed baby grows. and various other kids clothes.

Smilechild do often have nice stuff but appear to have been sold at the moment so their site isn't open.

Lots of places that have sort of alternative clothing do a small range of nice kids wear.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 10/02/2008 11:45

Sushistar I have given most of my things away, but realised I have a greenbaby 'vegetables' sleepsuit, aged 3-6 months if you would like it, only worn once or twice.
CAT me if you do and I will post it to you.

lizziemun · 10/02/2008 12:42

Am searching for similar . The few I have from last time are quite worn having been passed on to nephew and then back again. Knowing how quickly they grow I am also not keen to spend 20 quid on a babygrow!
Found silentspring.co.uk
also www.cowsaysmoo.co.uk
while not exactly cheap has a sale on

I've got a bright green one too with retro radios printed on it, very cute, 6 -12 months

sushistar · 11/02/2008 23:31

Update on this - found some cool green ones in sainsburys - £6 for 2 and it's 25% off at the mo too = got some good tshirts too. Thanks for the various links - sadly mostly still a bit pricey, but m&s an mothercare may have to do. TDWP, I've emailed you, you star!

Really? Sainsburys??? Any chance of a description if them? Our nearest Sainsbury's is 35 miles away but my mum has one near her which I think sells clothes so maybe she could grab some for my DSbump (who will NOT be dressed in beige!!!).

nappyaddict · 12/02/2008 01:58

have you tried pumpkin patch or zara? they have funky stuff.

weblette · 12/02/2008 11:45

Yanbu. There is some truly vile stuff out there. Next and Vertbaudet have been my staples.

Can I just add how much I detest babywear with "cute" slogans... Why the hell would you put a 3 month old into a top which says "Does my bum look big in this?"

sushistar · 12/02/2008 12:16

nappyaddict, i'm off to check out pumpkin patch. The sainsburys ones were a pack of 3 - one wide bright green stripes, one all bright green with a peapod on it, and one white with a peapod pattern. The stripey is the funkyest imo. There were bodysuits to match. Not fantastic by any means but the best i've found (for that kind of price).
Weblette, the worst slogans are the ones that label the poor little baby as 'trouble' or 'naughty' or little nightmare' etc etc. I hate those ones!

My dss's mum bought me some from George at Asda that are pretty funky looking, 2 pk, one white with bold stripes in red, green, yellow and blue and the other one white with a mid blue trim and thin stripes in red, green yellow and blue on the arms and legs with "little but loud " (my ds to a T!) on it. Only £6 as well. Makes a change from the usual pale blue and cream things I've got.

funkyboo · 10/03/2008 16:42

check out this link to zootots.co.uk - lots of bright sleepsuits and brights and stripes on offer at the moment
