Dress for wedding guest

I know it's in the bridesmaid section - is this too dressy for a wedding guest? Late spring hotel wedding.

I think its gorgeous (I'm 47) unless the bridesmaids are in green I think its perfect for a wedding guest

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. No issues here. I just put forward my thoughts and they are just that, my thoughts/opinions. You don't know me from Adam so I have no bad feelings one way or the other.

The OP is going to wear what she is comfortable in, what she wants to wear and have a wonderful time at the wedding in.

I think it’s nice to be properly dressed up for a wedding and that dress is just right.

Lovely dress , perfect for a wedding , doesn’t look bridesmaidy to me . My only concern would be that the lace top is a flattering cut , hopefully it has a little stretch to it and isn’t too rigid , hope it looks wonderful when you try it on .

If I saw a picture of that dress without context, I would not think it was from the bridesmaid section. So go for it! Lovely dress.

Lovely, but make sure you check what colour the bridesmaids are wearing before you buy

The only thing you need to check is that the BMs aren’t wearing dark green. I see no necessity to check anything else with the bride.

looks great - bridesmaidy in pink, but the dark green looks fine.
the same dress comes up in other sections too - party dresses, occasion dresses.

I think that dress is more suited to a ball than a wedding. I also agree with the poster who said it was aging.

I think it's nice and perfectly appropriate for the occasion.

I'm not completely sold, it does look quite bridesmaid-y to me. It feels a bit like there's too many elements - lace top, long sleeves, shiny waistband, pleated skirt.
I have worn a dress as a wedding guest that was marketed as a bridesmaid dress so I'm not fully against the principle, I'm just not a fan of this one.

Given that it's marketed as a bridesmaid dress, and is available in a few colors, imo it's best to check both - it's highly unlikely, but it would look odd if op had chosen the same dress as the bridesmaids but in a different colour.

Just my opinion - and nowhere did I say it was a 'necessity'.

I don't personally like it but I think it's spot on. Yes it's lacy but I don't think it looks too bridesmaidy particularly with sleeves. I think the colour would suit all hair colours and look good with silver/gold and black/white/coloured accessories.
