We've had a major family upset this morning.
There's essentially nothing I can do to remedy this but I have a first date this evening.
We've been talking for a week or so and arranged a walk later on.
My mind is elsewhere but alternatively I could do with a break from the house .
There is nothing I can do here so it's not as if I'm leaving a highly critical situation.
In fact there will be nobody here.
Should I cancel? Would it be unfair on him when I'm not in great form? That said I wouldn't be rude nor brooding .

I dont want to be rude with such short notice amd the distraction would be welcome.

I have no massive interest in this person but having said that it could go somewhere.
I'm a single parent of two teens.

I was going to say if you cancelled on me for that I wouldn’t bother again as I’d think you weren’t that interested. Then you actually say you’re not that interested! Cancel, it’s not really fair on them

soxonfire · 26/02/2023 14:36

I was v interested until we had this uoset.
It's paling into insignificance at the moment but this will pass. It's just changed my
Mood somewhat .

I would give it a go. It's not like anyone is out of pocket on a walking date Wink
Good luck and hope things improve at home too Flowers

Mind you, I am quite a good 'masker' and find it quite easy to put a face on things. If you're going to be out of sorts completely, then I probably wouldn't.

soxonfire · 26/02/2023 14:38

Thank you.
I feel selfish even considering going as my child is going through a really tough time but her friends are coming to take her out for a few hours so I will be here in my own anyway.
I will be back before she will.

No, I'm a good masker too so I'm well able to hide what's going on.

Please don't feel selfish. A wee distraction is a good thing sometimes Flowers

PinkiOcelot · 26/02/2023 14:41

Go OP. Distraction is good. Especially as you’ll be back before your daughter.

Have a nice time.

soxonfire · 26/02/2023 14:56

Maybe you're right.
It's only for an hour or so and I'll be home before her. It feels
Like I'm betraying her or something.
