Can just fuck off. Moaning about needing a new kitchen but sitting on a pile of 'assets' what is she to do, at her age?

Dunno love - maybe get rid of a few beagles and downsize rather than give a share to a finance company to be "happy with your life".

Not ageist, I'm 60 myself.

Daft advert. And equity release seems to be a bad idea. She could downsize if she hadn't accumulated so many beagles.

We roll our eyes at this everytime, not so much what she wants the money for or that she wants money (as its difficult to genuinely downsize) but that apparently she spoke to a solicitor who suggested equity release

Oh really? I dont think so, no one sensible suggests such a rip of scheme.

Make do with your current kitchen.

ugh hate this advert. Sitting “in and on” her assets and just wanting be happy with her life. She’ll never be happy. Get another beagle. Maybe 6 will do the trick.

Maybe she needs the cash for beagle theme wall paper and curtains and rugs. If she goes on holiday she's gonna be screwed with the costs for the kennels - maybe that's why she's doing equity release.

They probably suggest such schemes if they get an Introducer fee

I'm sick of all these equity release ads the worst one for me is the adult children speaking to the parents about them "doing all the things you wanted to do" "Don't roll your eyes"

My friends mother did this and my friend ended up with nothing left on the house when she died. (not that my friend wanted anything but its the point of what a rip off it is).

The ones I hate are the cheery 'plan your own funeral' ones - the relentless guilt tripping of the elderly to not be a burden on anyone, dressed up in fake jollity!

I just don't know why she want's to equity release for a new kitchen, fuck that, if you're going to let someone effectively steal your house from underneath you at least blow the money on something fun and let the house go to rack and ruin instead.
