Shamelessly putting this here for traffic, sorry

I made some international flight bookings in the last few days for me to fly within 2 weeks @ 10 days with about 2 days travel. The main flight booking was through an online agent but the internal flights at either end through the individual airlines themselves

The circumstances have changed since i booked the flights ...literally days..... which mean i would prefer to fly sooner ie this incoming week. I am debating whether to cancel everything and just rebook to fly earlier ...ie ...ask the individual airlines and agents to see whether they would change flights. (With fees incurred)

Go for full cancellation ..take the financial hit that way or ask for amended flights with costs incurred.

Anyone got any advice on the best way to approach this So sorry I didn't just use an agent to do the whole thing.

Don't want to give too much detail about why, as it is a very sensitive issue, but would really appreciate seasoned travellers or agents advice on this.

Why wouldn’t you try to change the dates? Surely you’d at least try…

Bleakhouser · 24/02/2023 22:48

Why don’t you check both and see which ends up being the most economical?

first thing you need to do is check the terms and conditions and see if they are changeable and/or cancellable.

Thanks for responding. I have checked the main flight via the agent ...£500+ to change the flight and I would get about £600 only back on the initial outlay of £1500 if I cancelled it. And this is before I even think about the possibility of changes to the flights before and after the main flight outbound. I would keep the return flights the same but the outbound I would like to change.

I hate talking about money in these circumstances but my whole outlay so far is over £2k which is alot for me. I may as well assume any changes would be the best part of £1k.

Ok.

cancellation is -£1500+600-1500 = 2400

changing is -1500-500 (ish) = 2000

so how is this a difficult decision?
