My dh likes a beer and it’s 6pm and he’s already had four pints!! (Was out for a very late lunch with work) he’s supposed to be meeting a friend later tonight for a couple of drinks and we also have a newborn baby who he is supposed to be helping me with in the night as I’ve been struggling
mice said he is unreasonable for drinking so much already and it’s not safe for him to be helping but he argues he knows his limits!!
he has alcoholic parents so I worry he is not seeing this as I am!

YANBU. He might want to check out Al-anon, the support group for relatives of people with alcoholism. Also he should be helping/in a fit state to help with your new baby.

Don’t let him help with the baby tonight. He wouldn’t be safe if he continues to drink.

Is this every night?

ZED55JAX0 · 24/02/2023 18:45

No not every night I don’t think so anyway but I do see a lot of empty cans in the recycling bin so I guess he must have some most nights but I don’t really know as I go to bed earlier at the moment with the baby
