AIBU to be worried about this? Help?

Hi,

I paid for a private hormone blood test as I’ve been having period problems (missing periods, extremely long cycles etc).

everything came back within normal limits thankfully with the exception of Oestradiol. According to the reference chart it’s supposed to be ;

322 - 637 Follicular Phase
1598 - 3338 Ovulation
760 - 1334 Luteal Phase
<505 Post Menopausal

(mine was 139)

I’m nowhere near menopause age but when I googled low oestradiol all I could find was information about menopause etc and nothing else which would be applicable to me

does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this? I’d really appreciate some help as I’m slightly worried about it!

From my knowledge of blood tests when I was undergoing fertility treatment, the levels all relate to where you’re at in your cycle & was told they can change from day to day, I had to have a test taken daily to get accurate readings. I know you have the list of ranges but as they are just an average they can’t tell you what’s happening to you personally. I had virtually no oestrodial as I suffer from PCOS, yet still went on to have children.It might be best to book an appointment with your GP, take your results with you, and ask to be referred to a specialist

The result I was anticipating being high (based on symptoms) was prolactin which was actually fine.

after just reading it back over, I’ve realised some of the other results are off as well. (I’ll post below)

im definitely going to speak to my GP but I guess I just got slightly worried that this is early menopause or something similar :(

im in the luteal phase so the oestradiol and progesterone are low and the luteinising hormone is high x

The most confusing to me is the Progesterone result as it says you’re in the follicular stage. I’m not an expert and used to get so confused when I was going through the sub fertility treatment, hopefully your GP will be able to explain it all and get you a referral. Mind you I’ve just had to wait so long for one I went private 🙄

Yeah I was confused about that too- I’m 100% not in the follicular stage but it’s so low for the luteal phase. I just don’t get it at all.
