Why so many flags being waved on here, sometimes for the slighest things?

It seems that threads with out red flags being mentioned are far and few between on here.
It can be something trivial but "oh that's got red flags all over it." It seems to be an on going trend to say it.
There was a trend for 'have a spa day', 'get a grip', 'ducks in a row' and even the gross 'shit on the pot or get off'. and more besides.
Does using the latest 'trendy expression' mean I'm following like a sheep because everyone else is saying it and I don't want to be let out / fomo?
I'm really curious as to what others think.

These expressions and opinions come and go.

There was a time on MN when everyone's annoying MIL or less than perfect husband was analysed by the MN amateur psychiatrists and found to be narcissistic.

That seems to have died off recently so perhaps it's been replaced by all the red flags; although I think red flags all over everything have been around on MN for quite some time

Because people in new relationships without red flags don't tend to ask for help?
