Is this normal after a blood test?

Had a blood test today on the inside of my arm/elbow. It was as sore as expected but not awful and the nurse got the needle in on the first attempt and it was all straight forward. It didn’t hurt or ache after it and i didn’t let my arm stiffen, I just used it as normal. But over the last hour or so it’s started to hurt so much where I had the blood test. It’s actually throbbing and pulsing with pain. I haven’t bumped it or injured it- I’ve used the arm as normal but I’ve been careful to not knock or hurt it. The pain started out of nowhere and is actually making me feel slightly sick with it, it’s throbbing so much.

anyone have any advice? I’ve had lots of blood tests before and never had this so slightly confused and not sure if there’s anything that would help or I just need to toughen up and ride it out!

I'd say it's fine. .. I've had blood tests where it's really hurt afterwards and some where I've ended up with a huge bruise. Hope you feel better soon!

I would ice it for a bit. 10-15 minutes on, 10-15 minutes off for a while and see how it looks/feels. It should help with the pain and throbbing at least. Is there any bruising, swelling, or redness?

I had this once, she might have been a little harsh with the needle.
However, if the throbbing and pain does not end by the next day, I would call 101 for advice
