Posting in AIBU for traffic sorry.

Anyone with experience of All Inclusive holidays (Spain) here, I’m going on a group trip and some of the party have All Inclusive and some do not. I’m just wondering about how it works, is there a limit on how many drinks you can have?

All inclusive rules

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 22/02/2023 17:38

The limit tends to be when you can no longer stand and/or you are vomiting everywhere.

Those on AI will have a different colour wristband. Normally only local spirits, you have to pay if you want branded.

Workyticket · 22/02/2023 17:42

My pal went non AI, they got friendly with an AI family and they scored a couple of drinks

Then the AI couple got a warning from the hotel that if they did it again they'd have their bands removed

PennyForearm · 22/02/2023 17:45

In most places/hotels where some guests are AI and some aren't, they are usually really hot on making sure the AI guests aren't supplying non AI guests with free food and alcohol - in case that was your plan.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 22/02/2023 17:47

If it’s not solely an AI hotel, then the AI guests will have bands, and if they’re rocking up to the bar asking for 6-8 drinks each time, questions will soon be asked.

Don’t take the piss

Snowdropsarelovely · 22/02/2023 17:48

They are usually hot on making sure you don't give drinks to people not on AI. Those not on AI will just need to buy drinks

WhichOneOfYasHasHadAShit · 22/02/2023 17:48

A mixed hotel will be shit hot.

I've seen people get drinks took off them etc because AI people have got them for them.

NamelessTemptress01 · 22/02/2023 18:08

I’m expecting to be asked by (in particular) one of the group to get the odd drink but I will say no then, cheers.

In some areas of Spain there are limits on the number of drinks you can have. The party places.

Spongecake556 · 22/02/2023 18:17

Which resort area are you going to? A new law was brought in for some areas that means you can only have 2 alcoholic drinks at lunch and dinner when staying AI.

Ponoka7 · 22/02/2023 18:18

Research the particular hotel on Tripadvisor. Are you working out if AL is worth it?

Ponoka7 · 22/02/2023 18:19

But if they are asking you to pay towards the AI and then they'll get you drinks, as said, staff are watching and will take the bands off them.

So CF’s then.

Roselilly36 · 22/02/2023 18:31

Rules changed last year, I did post to warn people. Check the AI gov rules for the resort you are visiting OP.

I think it might be best to downgrade mine, I have no problem saying no to people but probably easier all round if we’re all the same.

At most all inclusive hotels you can go to Reception and upgrade to all inc if this isn't what you booked originally - if anyone asks you to get them unlimited drinks just tell them to go and get an upgrade if they want to join in.

Why would you change your choice because of someone else?

YesYou · 22/02/2023 20:04

Are you the only one in the group that's booked all inc? You might find they want to eat and drink elsewhere. I wouldn't be staying in the hotel paying premium prices just because someone had gone all inc.

Vitriolinsanity · 22/02/2023 20:58

The barmen are super hot when they cotton on to groups taking the piss. If you don't want to be asked to leave or presented with a bill say no to piss takers.

NamelessTemptress01 · 22/02/2023 21:23

I’m not the only one, it’s about half but originally I didn’t want any meals included as prefer to eat out, the others all wanted full board and so the all inclusive seemed like a good idea at the time. Im probably just over thinking it now it’s coming up.

I’m not one for drinking a lot anyway
