Make up?

It's disappeared! Poof, gone!

It's not often that I wear make up, the last time I wore it was last September for a wedding.
I realised this morning that I hadn't seen my make up for a good while.
I've checked everywhere, including the handbag I used, drawers, various storage boxes in my bedroom and nope, nothing.
I'm the only female in my house, so it's not like it's been ' borrowed '
I've checked every handbag that I own ( I have lots ) and nothing, although I did find enough paracetamol to stock a chemist, a pair of glasses I thought I'd lost and several sachets of mayo, no I don't know either 🤷
So wise women ....where could it be? Where would you look that I've possibly missed?
I don't really want to buy any more as knowing my luck, I'd buy some then immediately find the missing offenders.
M.I.A is ..

One lipstick.
One lip liner.
One foundation to powder compact.
One blusher.

Are you still sniffing your hand cream every morning? If not you may have Covid. Have you checked
bathroom cabinets
suitcases or luggage bags (you may have taken it with you last time you went away)
The car
The shit drawer
Under the bed

It may be in the same place as the service handbook for my car op! Went missing at Christmas.

I've not been away anywhere, holiday wise since before the wedding.
I checked the car glove box, I don't know why because I don't normally take it out of the house as I don't wear it often enough.
It's definitely not in the bathroom cabinet.
Not understanding the hand cream / covid thing?

Sometimes I declutter things and then completely forget that I've done so. Have you had any major tidies? Or is there anyone you might have given it away to (nieces/nephews etc)? (With apologies to the germaphobes, but not everyone minds other people's microbiomes.)

@WrinklesShminkles No, not had a declutter or given it away.
I could have used the hunt to declutter really, but I just ended up shoving everything back from where I pulled it from.
I'll be keeping an eye on my dog, she looks the type to wear make up when she wants to flutter her eyes at next doors dog.
I'm mystified as to how half of my make up can go for a ta-ta when it's always kept in my dressing table drawer 🤔

Where did you apply it for the wedding? Did you carry it? Share a car/bag? Have you sent any bags to the charity shop? What bag did you take? Where are the shoes you wore? Any chance of in a box in the loft?

@Ponoka7 I applied it sat at my dressing table. The only item that I took with me was a lipstick, which is currently in my make up bag in my dressing table drawer.
I've not sent anything to a charity shop, the last time I was in my loft was never and the shoes / bag are in their respective boxes, I checked the bag, which is where I discovered the sachets of mayo, but no cosmetics.
I'm quite mad with myself about it, because they weren't cheap items 😭

The liner, lipstick etc can be drawn or painted with, any chance that's happened? Or over zealous cleaning/decluttering?

Was going to suggest suitcase if you'd been away with it, but seems that's already suggested.

In a pen pot? Especially the lip liner and eye liner.

What sort of dressing table to do you have - could any of it fallen off the sides, or out/over the back of the drawer?

In the clothes or towels - I could see myself chucking the bits on top of a load of washing going to another room, and it getting put in the wardrobe in someway...or on the bedside cabinet.

If its infrequently used....have you had a sort out of toiletries and decided its been open way longer than advised, and binned it thinking you had more? Or indeed....had you actually used it all up at time and forgotten?

Just because you're the only female in the house doesn't mean your make up is safe. Any of the males in the house taken a wee interest in Glow Up?

Anyone in your house gone to a fancy dress party over the Christmas Holidays. My delightful brother used to try and steal my makeup for fancy dress parties in Uni and could not for the life of him understand why I would not let him use my Mac lipstick to write logos on his white coat.

Could it be right at the back of your dressing g table drawer? Could you take the drawer out in case it has fallen down the back of them?

The only other person in the house is my DH.
He doesn't wear make up ...well, to the best of my knowledge anyway.
My dressing table stands on four legs, so doesn't have a back on it, just two drawers under the top.
I have a basket underneath it, which I pulled out and went through to see if it had made a bid for freedom and landed in there, but no luck.
I did find a new tube of moisturiser in there though, so that was a bonus.

@KupoNutCoffee I haven't thrown any away, one of my lipsticks is shamefully over 35 years old.
Which shows how often I wear it.

Pull the drawers out entirely from the unit. There is a weird ledge behind the drawers in a unit of mine that things fall onto. Maybe you have similar - you need to actually remove the drawer to access.

Otherwise do you keep a bin near the side of the dressing table. Could they have fallen in without you noticing and then being thrown away.
