O2 Priority

I've just seen the stats for the winners of the various competitions O2 put out for their customers on the Priority app.

"Total 2022 Entries 5,140,563
Total 2022 Winners 216
Total 2021 Entries 6,854,031
Total 2021 Winners 457"

No wonder I've never heard of anyone winning it in real life - the odds are atrocious!

Priory is also crap if you live in the westcountry - huge swathes of us have no access to the London-based pub chains, cinemas or Greggs for the freebies or offers, no concerts happen outside main hubs so the ticketing is often pointless.... And yes I've written to them about this before.

Beginning to wonder why I've been "loyal to O2 for my last 3 phone contracts! I know people will come on and say" it's free, what do you expect ", but actually it's sold as a major benefit of the company which I now realise is me sucking up their advertising.

AIBU? Is Vodafone VeryMe the same?

O2 don't select the pub chains and businesses, they pay to be part of those offers because they want the audience base that O2 has.

AnnoyedFromSlough · 20/02/2023 12:47

I won a t-shirt.

Sadly I didn't win the £5,000 Sainsbury voucher.

Dallimore · 20/02/2023 12:50

VeryMe isn't much better. DH and I have entered almost every competition for years and the most I've ever won is a £10 TK Maxx gift card. They also aren't very transparent about who does win the big ones. They also have loads of offers that say 'free whatever it is' but you click on it and it's only free if you pay £5+ postage or if you sign up to a subscription. Or they have a code for a free Costa or something, but when you redeem it, you have to use it within the next hour which I can't always do as I'm usually at work and they list them first thing in the morning. Then if you go to redeem it later on that day you can't as they have run out because they only offer a certain amount of them

A lot of the o2 Priority offers are useless in fairly rural Yorkshire too. Years ago, I did once win two tickets to see Florence + The Machine at the o2 through o2 Priority - ended up taking a London friend in exchange for staying at hers. So it does happen!

aibutohavethisusername · 20/02/2023 21:58

Back in the day I win tickets to Prince at the o2.

Alicesweewonders · 20/02/2023 22:02

I won concert tickets for someone I didn't even like. ( I just pressed enter on all the competitions)

I'm more selective now, fat lot of good it will do me anyway lol

Alicesweewonders · 20/02/2023 22:04

I've had many a free hot drinks at Nero's though, raging they don't do it anymore. ( No Gregg's near me)

Also, miss their £1 meal deals.

KenAdams · 20/02/2023 22:05

I've won twice. Hospitality tickets to an event at the O2 and a skincare bundle.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 20/02/2023 22:11

Vodafone are absolutely shit. I have just gone onto O2 after an AGE as a Vodafone customer, I would never go back and am so glad I finally got my shit together to leave instead of just plodding on

UnctuousUnicorns · 20/02/2023 22:14

I didn't know they did offers and competitions - I've only used it once, for a gig tickets presale. 🤷‍♀️

Fuckityfuckfuck123 · 20/02/2023 22:22

Priority used to actually be good. It's crap now.

OrangeKettle · 20/02/2023 22:24

Oh god I literally signed up for o2 today, so I could get the priority app! Now I read this!

feeona123 · 20/02/2023 23:00

I won a runner up £100 Coast voucher years ago.

I was hoping for the Sainsburys voucher too 😥

JudgeRinderonTinder · 21/02/2023 00:01

The £1 boots meal deal on priority used to be good, and the free coffee from cafe Nero every Tuesday. It’s crap now.

I agree, VF are SHIT in every way.
I can’t wait for my contract to end (counting down the months) so I can escape.

Ha, forgot about this thread.

I only bloody won a £1650 voucher for last minute.com! 😂 Apparently 20,000 people entered that day and 2 people won.
