To want a clear time frame on plans!

Does anyone else get annoyed when you try and make plans with people and they don’t give you a clear time? They may say morning or afternoon, but not an actual time. So you are just hanging around waiting to see when they are ready.

I like to set a time and stick to it. If I make plans with people I set a time and stick to it. I don’t like messing people around. I think this is heightened for me as I’m autistic and like clear plans and times etc and as above I don’t like messing people around.

dd is meant to be going out with a friend today, it is half term. This happens quite a lot, sometimes I take her kid out, sometime she does mine. If I take hers out I always set a time, quite often I turn up at said time and we are waiting outside for half an hour as they aren’t ready.

today, dd is meant to be going out with friend and her mum. She’s just said morning with no clear time.

she’s said morning before and not turned up until after lunch.

dd is getting restless. So am I.

aibu to be annoyed by this? Even though I know this mum is poor at time management, I get annoyed every time.

my mother is similar too. She’ll never give a clear time so you are sat waiting around for ages!

I’ll probably be told I’m being unreasonable. I’m just annoyed at waiting around and want to vent 😭

Not everything needs a time though! Not everyone can plan every single thing ahead based on other things they have going on. My son is autistic and gets frustrated like this too....he understands though that not everyone is like him in the way he thinks.

I get that but this isn’t a one off! A simple text to say 11am or whatever time would help, just to have some idea. It doesn’t have to be exact! Morning could be anything from 8am to noon for me 😂

I hear you. Strongly suspect I am asd. My only suggestion is move to Denmark or find Danish friends. Danes are very punctual.
