Toddler diarrhea an issue with nursery

My son had a stomach bug two weeks ago. He's had diarrhea ever since. Went to a walk in centre a couple of days ago as couldn't get in with my GP and they said it's just post infection IBS. Really common and can take as long as 4 weeks to settle down. He's had this before and it was exactly the same but it settled down on its own. No other symptoms. Eating and drinking fine. Etc. My problem is the walk in centre don't do letters for me to show at the nursery, and my GP is saying they don't have any appointments for two weeks. On the day appointments are for urgent cases and this is not urgent. So, do I just keep him home and not work until he's better, potentially for another 1-2 weeks? I've sent him in today and I'm 99% sure they're going to call me to collect him. Started a new job recently and it's just a nightmare. His other nursery are completely fine with it and have said that as he had a bug and was off sick for 3 days, they trust my word. He only goes to this one 1 day a week though so it doesn't help massively and they don't have space for him on the other days. I'm stuck!
