Would you go to A&E

DH wants me to go to A&E but I'm not sure. For around a week my legs have been painful. The pain was really bad this morning and reduced me to tears. Sitting hurts, walking hurts but I'm not sure it's actually an A&E thing.
I can't take time off work for a doctors appointment so would have to wait until Friday to see a doctor but I'm in so much pain and can't get back any relief from it.
Would you go to A&E?

Nope. If it's not bad enough for you to take time off work for a doctors appointment then it's not an emergency nor and accident.

Scrub that I just read the thread properly!!! Still thing you're mad to be worrying about work though.

Surely if you have blood clots in your lung your already on blood thinners which is the treatment.

Yes I am on blood thinners, warfrin so it probably isn't a blood clot but if there is a possibility it is then it needs to be checked. Being on blood thinners doesn't mean you can never get a blood clot just that it's unlikely.
For people asking why I didn't go to the doctors the pain wasn't so bad last week. It was only today the pain reduced me to tears.
With work if I don't go in children won't be able to come in and there will be a lot of unhappy parents.

I understand the work issue I’m the same, personally Op I would go to A&E. it’s really starting to piss me off with people saying dont go A&E and waste NHS time, we pay for it. It’s not free. If you need it you need it. You’ve had a serious medical issue where this could be connected & potentially a serious risk to life/health. You work Op? So you pay? Go to A&E!

@Rosebel did you go to a and e?

ChickenDhansak82 · 12/02/2023 21:22

It's not your problem if work can't cope if you call in sick.

A&E is for emergencies. If you're contemplating work tomorrow this is clearly not an emergency.

Phone GP in the morning and get an appointment ASAP.

Just back from A&E. Thankfully not a blood clot but torn muscle in both my thigh and calve. There is also some damage to one of the ligaments in my leg so explains why the led leg was so painful. They think my right leg is painful because I was overcompansating for the pain in my left leg. Support bandages and painkillers.
Doctor at the hospital said with my history to just come in if I'm worried about leg pain. (Still I suppose he's not likely to say anything else).
