Shopping with bored kids

I work long hours and only get a chance to do a food shop on a Saturday afternoon, which isn’t ideal because it’s always really busy. I don’t like the idea of someone choosing my fruit and veg so don’t do click and collect or home delivery.

Every week I am surprised by the amount of families in there who treat it like some day out with their kids running riot. I’m not talking about single parents who have no one else to look after the kids, but mum and dad and two kids, for example! Today this family had two boys, aged around 8-10, they were clearly bored and doing what 8-10 year old boys do, being annoying! The younger one then had a massive tantrum and all four were blocking an aisle.

Why not let the kids do what they want at home with one parent looking after them while the other does the food shop?

It’s an out of town Tesco nowhere near anything they might have interest in.
