To have found this strange?

Off the back of another thread I just read.

Met my friends GF for the first time recently (both women) whirlwind romance, moved way too fast IMO. Both have MH issues.

So I meet them at public transport spot and there's a random lady wearing something I love, I ask her where she got it and she tells me.

We get on the bus and the new GF asks me my address, I'm a bit taken aback and ask why. She's trying to order me this item I just saw 😕 it's around £35.

I decline.

We nip in a shop and she tries to buy me a drink and some chocolate. Again I decline.

Then she tries to buy me lunch. I manage to pay myself but she keeps saying 'it's just how I am'

I manage to get through the day without her paying for anything.

But then later on in a private conversation with friend it turns out the GF is broke. My friend has been covering all food and household expenses for the past month and new GF has been 'scammed' so can't access funds.

So why was she trying to buy me, a stranger, everything?!

Like I said my friend has really bad MH issues and this person came down a few times and basically moved in. She's gone home again now but she will be back soon. She says she has a house in Coventry her dad lives in.

It's all just so weird and I'm worried for my friend who is, I would say, vulnerable. But the new GF also has MH issues and multiple disabilities.

It seems GF lives with her best mate and the best mate keeps encouraging the girlfriend to move in with my mate, she doesn't want her to!!

Also friend bought her expensive presents at Xmas (£150 shoes for example) but can't contribute to bills?!
They had only known each other a month or so at that point.

I've met a couple of people like this over the years. Sometimes they have no intention of buying whatever it is (mainly because they have no money and their card would reject) but its very easy to say oh I'll get this and that. Its so you will think they are a kind and generous person and it doesn't cost them a penny, because they don't have to follow through on the gesture.
TL:DR people can act strange
