I have tried using Hello Fresh and Gousto recently. They are both fairly similar - nice recipe card and ingredients delivered to your door for you to make. We can afford it, it takes the weight of both deciding what to cook and buying the food off my hands. The portions are surprisingly filling and it really cuts down on food waste.
After trying both we went with Gousto as it had less packaging / the packaging was more easily recycled, but we are having a lot of teething issues. 2 weeks running now when I have gone in and tried to pick which meals I wanT it has thought I wanted a whole new subscription so we have ended up with two boxes, double the food and one of the boxes is just random meals, things that we would never get the kids to eat. It’s pretty frustrating as we don’t want to waste the food so we find ourselves eating good we don’t really want while making beans on toast for the kids.
i want one box a week that I get to choose the recipes for. Is this too much to ask for? Does anyone use Gousto regularly with success? I don’t think I’m being thick but I find the website really not clear at all.
and do any of these types of places do free range chicken / organic veg etc?
