Do you ever get competitive over school stuff?

Lighthearted really, but do you ever feel yourself slipping into a sort of competitive mode at school?
My Dd, 4 has a dressing up competition and parade next week, costumes must be homemade, I’m wracking my brains for something amazing to try and make (not really naturally crafty but good at the planning etc) They’ve also asked for snacks, cakes etc to share with the class for a small party, preferably homemade and now I’m thinking about that and which cakes to bake with Dd, when I know that I could really just get some from the shops/bakery.
I’m an ex primary school teacher, is it due to this? Feel a bit of a dick as most of my friends complain about this and act like they put no effort it..do they hate it and put no effort in or are we secretly all trying our best to have one of the best costumes/cakes or at least v good ones 😂

I literally do the minimum I can get away with and could not give one shiny shit what others think.

@ThursdayLastWeek 🤣I think it depends what mood I’m in, either completely all or nothing
