To expect all 5 items?

Seller on Vinted had a single listing titled Tops. Included photos of 5 different tops. More info purely stated they were all size x. Good price for items. Ordered, have arrived today but only 3 items. Queried this, was told the price was for one item only and the seller has been kind sending other two. Has sold other two individually, allegedly thru same listing. If this was so, why was I not asked which of the 5 tops I wanted? I bought items in under an hour of listing. Seller is suggesting other buyers are happy and have left good reviews, and suggestion is that I should do the same and be grateful as it is MY misunderstanding. What do you think?

I'd report them somehow that's really cheeky

JellyKatty · 09/02/2023 18:56

That doesn't sound right to me. Like you said, surely the seller should have asked you which tops, if it wasn't for all 5!

MyFuckRationsAreDepleated · 09/02/2023 18:57

How could someone else buy from the same listing, because once a listing is purchased it disappears. Weird.

underneaththeash · 09/02/2023 18:57

Yes, you need to report ASAP and you'll get a refund.

ChilliBandit · 09/02/2023 18:58

I’d report, once you clicked purchase the listing disappears.

PrimrosesandPears · 09/02/2023 18:59

vinted will refund you for this, I wouldn’t engage further as the seller is trying to mislead imo

Professionallytorn · 09/02/2023 19:19

Glad you feel the same as me. I am fairly new to Vinted and not bought more than one item in a listing before. I could not understand how the other items could have been sold either ! Thanks everyone, will raise dispute

Seller has now requested a return. Is this s my only option and who pays postage? How does that work ?

Turnthelightoff · 09/02/2023 19:23

Do you like any of the tops? You could either keep and raise dispute or return at sellers cost once full refund provided to you, not before. And if you did like one you could play them at their own game and only return 2.

Professionallytorn · 09/02/2023 19:40

I do like two of them, was planning on relisting any I didn't like. How do I return without being out of pocket? Can i insist on full refund and for seller to pay postage ? Vintage t & c appear to read I have to pay postage which seems ridiculous unless i have misread this

Can you tell us what you paid? Might give better context to who’s been silly 👀

Arniesleftleg · 09/02/2023 19:59

I buy and sell loads on Vinted, so far so good, but this is really cheeky. I'd report the seller, it's not on to just assume, or to list as a bundle and not separates if she was going to sell as a bundle which it sounds as though she intended but then got a better offer.

imnotsickbutimnotwell · 09/02/2023 20:09

You have to pay the return postage even if the seller is at fault that’s how it works on Vinted.

You must raise an issue with Vinted within 2 days of receipt I think it is. Make sure you don’t press “everything is ok” or they will release her funds and then there is nothing you can do then.

She can’t have sold other tops through that listing as the listing is per transaction so it will not show as sold. You should have received everything in the photos. Multi item listings are not allowed.

imnotsickbutimnotwell · 09/02/2023 20:09

Sorry that should read “it will show as sold”

imnotsickbutimnotwell · 09/02/2023 20:10

Oh and it’s a good idea to join one of the many Vinted groups on Facebook for info on how it all works and advice.

Pleiades2020 · 09/02/2023 20:47

You have to pay return postage as PP said. Are they low value? In which case might not be worth bothering, if you're happy with the three tops you got. I get about 10-20% duds on Vinted (most of these are things that don't quite fit/suit, a couple too smelly, a couple not as described). Typically low value so would just give away instead of try to return - if the item isn't as described I wouldn't leave a review so it just shows as auto feedback, sale completed successfully. I'm always wary of sellers with too many of these as I think it's probably people not happy but not not happy enough to leave a bad review.

Read the reviews (for sales) - if no reviews don't buy (unless low value in which case not too much risk). People typically get scammed on high value designer items not your high street brands. Beware of too many auto feedbacks.

Set up and save searches so you can filter out items that are not in very good condition, too expensive, wrong brand, etc. You get less to sift through that way.

Thank you everyone, lessons learned.
