To think I am 37 days sober

I decided to do dry Jan and have now extended this to end of March.

10 days ago I had a sip of my husband wine at dinner, I am not playing this down it was one tiny sip just to see if I missed it.

Today i said to my daughter I am 37 days alcohol free. She said no you arent you had that sip of Dad's wine.

AIBU to think I am 37 days alcohol free...

Hmmm a sip is difficult to measure, but I guess given its not enough to get you drunk or even tipsy really, you can consider yourself 37 days in a sober mind.

In that sense, YANBU.

Do you think you need encouragement to carry on, in which case yes you are 37 days AF.

but I do think you are really at day 10 AF

Thank you teen DD was taking the shine off yes i guess technically not completely alcohol free but pretty damn close

Definitely 37 days sober as a sip doesn't get you drunk. Other things also have traces of alcohol fruit juice and hot dog buns have a fair bit! Most people who don't drink aren't 100% alcohol free due to fermentation.

Well she wasn’t wrong, you haven’t technically been free from alcohol for 37 days! But just carry on, her comment doesn’t detract from what you already know, that you had a sip of wine, and it doesn’t change the fact that you haven’t had a drink since.

Flip
