This happens quite a bit. A post being deleted because the majority not agreeing with the poster. Surely the poster should acknowledge they are in the wrong not ask for the removal of the post

funny I had one on my watch list. just so I could see the deletion message. nowadays it seems easy to get a thread deleted if it doesn't go the op's way.

Agree completely samcro.

Heh, just saw the “unwanted takeaway” thread has been deleted, but if anyone saw the photo of the takeaway carriers in the WINE FRIDGE, they should’ve realised it was a joke thread.

I didn't even see that post. Another one then.

It was spectacular! OP’s husband had brought home 5 carrier bags of takeaway food, but OP had already planned the family’s meals for the next two days - pizza and pasta - so was furious. She then posted a photo of the carrier bags in the WINE FRIDGE which was hilarious, and surely the whole reason for her (or him I s’pose) starting the thread.

I had a post as a previous username, realised I was being unreasonable, posted repeatedly that I fully accepted that I was wrong and what I had done towards rectifying my behaviour but the insults were horrendous and just kept coming. I’m not overly sensitive but some comments were so cruel bearing in mind that it was a very minor thing thing that I was being unreasonable about. I was relatively new to MN and didn’t know about hiding posts etc. so I asked MN to take it down.

But what if the OP is getting abusive or bullying type responses? Surely then it's fair enough for them to ask for it to be deleted? I only say this as someone who has asked for my thread to be deleted in the past because of some abusive and disgraceful comments I received. It is not always because things don't go the OPs way.
