In Bed before 8:30

Every day this week I have been in bed before 8:30.
Tonight I came home from work went out had a couple of wines a kebab and now I am in bed.
It's warm and cosy happy reading my book and mumsnetting but why does it feel so wrong??

This me every weekday night OP, bed at 8.30 tucked up all cozy with a hot water bottle. Nothing better.

PennyToffee · 03/02/2023 21:03

Sounds lovely, but, I'm longing for long summer nights when I don't have to take to my bed to keep warm.

StopGo · 03/02/2023 21:07

Spaniel informed me it was bedtime about twenty minutes ago. She is snoring gently by my feet and we are both snuggled up. Bliss

I often think we must look like a household of toddlers. We all start work quite early - DH starts at 6am, I start at 7am, DS at 8am so we head bedwards at 9am as we will soon be getting up again (DH first at 4.45)

Love it!

thequeenoftarts · 03/02/2023 21:14

Points out as kids we all swore we would NEVER be in bed at such an early time when we were all grown up ........How things change hahahahaha

DoIWantThis · 03/02/2023 21:15

I'm impressed that you went out! Bed and snoozing is the best..life is hard, rest and relaxation is priceless on our hamster wheel!

Summer2424 · 03/02/2023 21:17

Hi @Newlifeintherain not wrong at all, i think its a good time to settle down to sleep, we do the same. 🌝

CloseYourMouthLynn · 03/02/2023 21:17

I do this on a Sunday night, in bed early, cup of tea and my tablet or a book, it's dreamy!

Ragwort · 03/02/2023 21:17

I don't even have the excuse of working full time or DC at home ... just love my bed Grin.

MrsJBaptiste · 03/02/2023 21:19

Because it is! It's 8.30pm FFS 😯

Lenax · 03/02/2023 21:20

Currently also in bed with a book & could easily sleep

Sloth66 · 03/02/2023 21:20

I love a nice early night. In bed with a hot drink, a good book. There’s something very cosy and relaxing about being in a warm bd in winter when it’s dark outside.
9:30 is good, 9 even better…

user1485851222 · 03/02/2023 21:20

I'm in bed most nights between 8.15 -8.45, with a good book and electric blanket. More comfortable than the sofa

KangarooKenny · 03/02/2023 21:21

It sounds lovely.

saymynamex · 03/02/2023 21:24

I would love to be in bed. I am waiting to pick my DD up from work at 10 🙄

Bluesandwhites · 03/02/2023 21:24

@Ragwort

Ragwort, it's none of my business, or anyone else's, but are both you & your DH happy with this arrangement? I'm intrigued with your Mumsnet name too, are you horsey?

PennyToffee · 03/02/2023 21:27

I think I'd rather have an evening out of bed. Especially a Friday night.

LittleBrownJug · 03/02/2023 21:28

Every. Single. Night. Electric blanket and two cats. DP sleeps separately like a PP; he likes to sit in the living room of a night … nutter.

I know it wasn’t me you asked @Bluesandwhites but we are very happy with the separate room situation! We would have murdered each other by now for sure without it.

Thepeopleversuswork · 03/02/2023 21:29

I like this too but feel crippling guilt about not being more productive

Ragwort · 03/02/2023 21:33

Blues very happy with the arrangement... sleep so much better in separate rooms & we both love time alone to read in bed without disturbing each other... married over 35 years! Always try & find a s/c holiday where we can have our own rooms as well.

I am not horsey but years ago when I wanted a new name on here I couldn't find anything unique so for some reason settled on the weeds outside my front door Grin.

Bluesandwhites · 03/02/2023 21:33

@LittleBrownJug
Oh, another one ! Sorry to be nosy, but just wondered if this works, obvs it does as you seem content. I lived a separate life to my former OH and was not happy about it.
@Thepeopleversuswork
Please don't feel guilty, especially if you work hard for a living, and even if you have retired, you have earned your rest.

Always4Brenner · 03/02/2023 21:34

Love my bed most nights 9ish hibernating tomorrow under duvet on sofa I love it.

Bluesandwhites · 03/02/2023 21:36

@Ragwort
Thanks for update ! I'm pleased it works well for you both xx

GrannieD · 03/02/2023 21:39

I'm also tucked up in bed with a brew. It's been a long ass week ! Up and out for 8.30 in the morning so dont mind it really. Plus its warmer up here.
