Snoring on flight in business class

I have never flown business class so am curious as to what happens if someone snores loudly on a night flight so other people cannot sleep?
If I had paid thousands for a flight I wouldn't be happy for someone to be snoring loudly.
But if I was a loud snorer it's not like I could stop unless forceably kept awake.

How does this work? Looking for answers from flight crew or business class regulars....

Plenty of people snore. Equally they have loud conversations, laugh, clink glasses and more. You take earplugs if you can't cope with noise on a flight

sst1234 · 03/02/2023 20:25

You booked a plane seat, not a hotel suite.

Blip · 03/02/2023 20:26

Oh I see so loud snoring is perfectly acceptable?

Earplugs. It’s harder to deal with the farters to be honest. Altitude is not good for some people’s digestion!

Skinnermarink · 03/02/2023 20:27

If something like this was going to cause me anxiety there’s no way I’d shell out silly money for a flight. Id rather be pissed off in economy.

its not like anyone is going force someone to stay awake to avoid snoring

SheilaFentiman · 03/02/2023 20:27

What would you expect to happen?

TakeMe2Insanity · 03/02/2023 20:28

Thats why they provide everyone with ear plugs.

Blip · 03/02/2023 20:28

I wondered if the snorer would be woken up every time

Planes are quite noisy so it sort of drowns it out

You get given earplugs on every flight

Most people who can afford business class can afford Nouse cancelling headphones

Business class really isn't a 5 star nirvana, you just get a nicer seat, better food and more frequent service. You still have to be stuck in a place for 10 hours. Majority of people in there are travelling for work anyway

oh i am bad for farting when in the air, even when avoiding everything they say to avoid, i bloat like fuck and fart regardless

MrWhippersnapper · 03/02/2023 20:28

Get some ear plugs and stop being ridiculous

Hoppinggreen · 03/02/2023 20:28

They open the exit doors and chuck them out

Rumcoco · 03/02/2023 20:29

Not an issue as aircrafts are noisy anyway and most people put earplugs if they want to sleep or noice cancelling headsets to watch a movie.
tbh I’m more bothered by people farting after a heavy meal

HundredMilesAnHour · 03/02/2023 20:29

People snoring happens sometimes. You do your best to ignore it. There's no such thing as the Snore Police. Get some good noise cancelling headphones or earplugs and you won't hear a thing.

No, they've paid for business class

FlounderingFruitcake · 03/02/2023 20:30

The seats are quite well spaced and the engines are like white noise. I’ve never heard snoring and I don’t even use the earplugs provided in the amenity bag because I need to keep an ear out for my kids.

Scrambledchickens · 03/02/2023 20:30

Even in business class there is noise from engines etc. they also give you v nice noise cancelling headphones to use.

Blip · 03/02/2023 20:31

Interesting. So those of you who fly business class regularly find this a non issue?

I sat behind a prolific cutlery scarper once though. And that was in First with the fucking a la carte service and I swear he ate all night long. Hell is other people. If you don’t like it fly private.

Grimbleton · 03/02/2023 20:33

I was long haul in business class at night. Flight was full and the stewards did nothing when one flyer was snoring so much it was almost vibrating the plane. My colleague was next to the snorer and got no sleep at all. the crew didn’t try to wake the offender, despite multiple people complaining. flights paid for by work so I don’t think any of us bothered to follow up with the airline to complain. I stuck my headphones in to drown it out as much as possible. I’d have been totally gutted had I paid for business class!

daisy46 · 03/02/2023 20:33

The engine noise from the plane is so loud that snoring would blend right in. I've never heard anyone snoring on a flight. It's not anything to worry about.

dizzydizzydizzy · 03/02/2023 20:34

I like wearing my AirPod Pros and playing calming music. Works for me. (When you take them off, you realise how noisy the plane is). As PPs have said, there are no snore police.

As an aside: we travelled in First Class across the Atlantic when DB was a baby. He screamed the way. The only thing that stopped him was a silly musical toy. The crew took him to the cockpit for a few hours!!!!

LocalHobo · 03/02/2023 20:34

A guy was snorting like a Lamborghini on my flight from Dubai on Monday. Obviously the rest of us were also asleep or wearing earphones watching screens. It was only when I got up for the loo and then visited the bar that I heard him.
I fly regularly in Business and it is just something that is inevitable and irrelevant.

BruceAndNosh · 03/02/2023 20:34

I've only ever heard one really loud snorer in Economy I assume because most people don't really sleep deeply.
The snorer continued snoring thru breakfast service, was woken up for landing as his seat was reclined, but resumed snoring until we reached the gate!
