Satellite Internet - is it overkill?

My rural Internet is hit and miss... Private road with no chance of landowner allowing cable etc... I've heard about satellite Internet - does anyone have this? I've heard it is quite expensive to install but reasonable monthly costs. What sort of costs have mumsnetters experienced? Thank you xx

For starling its 60 something per month. Rural SW. Been very good.

Not at all. If you're rural it is a sensible option. Dependent on your coverage, mobile broadband could also be an option.
