Vomiting bug

DS1 (5) was sick on Tuesday evening so I kept him off school with the plan to send him in tomorrow. However, he was sick again this morning so will now be of school until Monday.

DS2 (3) has gymnastics tomorrow. Assuming DS1 isn't unwell again between now and then, would I be unreasonable to take him with me while I watch DS2? There is a kids room with toys, so he'd probably be in there for the duration.

I wouldn't take him any public spaces till 48 hours after him being sick if I could help it.

Merryoldgoat · 02/02/2023 14:04

YABU

He’ll infect the toys and other people he comes into contact with other.

He needs to be 48hrs clear of symptoms.

Favouritefruits · 02/02/2023 14:05

You can’t really let him play with ‘public’ toys he’ll spread his germs all over them, maybe if you sit him next to you and he promises not to move, but can’t you just keep him indoors to stop the spread?

irbeagb88 · 02/02/2023 14:06

YABU. Although I acknowledge it's bloody annoying when you are almost 48 hours clear and then sick again...grrr!

Beginningless · 02/02/2023 14:07

Yes YWBU, sorry. It’s a pain when bugs like this take out so much from life but I don’t want my kids to be the next ones in the kids room getting infected.

Fair enough, thank you!

You seem wise and receptive to the feedback OP. I feel your frustration as we're in EXACTLY the same boat right now. 2 day gap in between vomiting is shit!!!

SheSeemsToHaveAnInvisibleTouch · 02/02/2023 14:46

Roll on bastard spring!!!!!

anxiousatnight · 02/02/2023 15:01

Absolutely, I won't take him now. I've messaged granny to see if she can take the little one to gymnastics. I just wondered whether I was being over the top and wanted some opinions.

The little one was sick on Sunday evening, so he was home from pre-school Mon/Tues. then the big one was sick on Tuesday evening, so I've had company all week!
