...............I made a cake today, just so that I could scrape the bowl and eat quite a lot of the cake mixture

Has anyone else got anything to confess?

I make things for lunch so I can have a bit that's left over in the evenings.

OurChristmasMiracle · 02/02/2023 12:42

I checked the date on the doughnuts and had to have 2 because we can’t waste food

Well exactly. That is just good for your household budget. Nobody can complain about that.

I went through the drive through at Mac Donald’s on the way home from work and had to order a sundae because ordering only fries is very lazy

I have to buy chocolate at the local shop because small businesses need supporting. Ditto the privately owned pub - its hard but its doing my bit for the local economy

I made extra chocolate ganache (when I was making a birthday cake) on Monday so that I could put it in a tub and eat it with a spoon. I finishes the tub Monday evening.....

I was given a tub of vanilla icing..................and it turned out to be horrible.

So I am going to make another cake, and make my own icing.

That way, I get to eat the scrapings of the cake mixture and as much icing as I like before nausea and regret set in, in equal measure.

I went to the bakery for an apple turnover. They didn't have any small ones so I had to buy a large one.

You were only going to buy one apple turnover?

I sometimes make cookies just so I can eat the raw dough.

Me 2!!

TheShellBeach · 02/02/2023 13:16

I had so little cake mixture left after eating most of it yesterday that the cake was quite small, which was disappointing.

I love DH but miss being single and it being okay for dinner to just be uncooked cookie dough.

Objectionhearsayspeculation · 02/02/2023 14:57

We made cakes this morning. Dd2 and DH thought nothing of this, Dd1 however is too savvy now and queried why we needed the extra one (albeit a small one). I don't know if I need to split my hoard or try and hypnotise her into forgetting it existed

Isn't that just called an apple pie then???

My kids asked if they could get vending machine treats at swimming tonight - I said no because there were two cakes left from yesterday.

I ate both cakes for lunch so now they’re going to have a vending machine treat. You’re welcome!
