...at being REALLY embarrassed by this ?

It's quite funny in a way, but I have taken myself by surprise by developing a crush - yes that melting feeling you got at 15 or 16 when the object of your desire entered your line of vision.

But I'm a happily married mother of 4 approaching her mid forties and my object is a dad from one of the dcs schools.

It's got to the stage where I don't know whether to hope he'll be there at pick up, or to hope he won't in case I blush or say something stupid just because he's there.

...
...but a little bit too...

had it happen. It does wear off if you just keep telling yourself that. But is a bit fluttery while it lasts. And rather unexpected.

nospringchicken · 07/02/2008 10:05

How long did it take for yours to wear off ?

unreasonable to be embarrassed?

umm, maybe a bit - developing a crush is quite normal isn't it?

madamez · 07/02/2008 10:14

Oh just enjoy it. ANd go and read that thread about how the object of one's crush will sooner or later do something like fart loudly and sniff with a pleased expression, or reveal himself to have every Cliff Richard record ever made, or turn up with a big bogey hanging out of his nose, and your crush will evaporate

Something to make your day a little bit brighter. Bet you are dressing up for the school run

nospringchicken · 07/02/2008 10:17

Must confess i was glad i looked a bit more presentable than normal when he was there yesterday .

You are right, I shall enjoy it while it lasts; maybe he'll turn up with a terrible haircut or a Val Doonican jumper one day soon.
