To feel disappointed about striking

Just feeling a bit down about everything😞

I also want to say I understand why lecturers are striking and I fully understand and agree with their right to do so. And I know the point is supposed to cause disruption, I just (selfishly) feel a bit sad that I’m being disrupted.

our Uni experience has been so crap. We started in 2019 and for 6 months had so many strikes and missed days. Then covid hit in March and we were all sent home. We weren’t on campus for the rest of 1st year, and any of 2nd year or 3rd year. Absolutely nothing. No in person lectures or classes, no tutorials in person, no societies, no clubs. It’s as if the Uni completely shut down.

As of this academic year, we’ve been in-person for most of it thankfully so we’ve had 1 semester of normality. But now we’re starting semester 2 and apparently there’s going to be something like 20+ days of striking planned😞 classes are cancelled already and there’s going to be more cancellations.

im so disappointed- our Uni experience has already been crap and we were all making the most of having normal experiences like going to lectures and classes again and now loads of them are going to be cancelled.

AIBU to feel a bit sad about this?! Uni has been so so crap😞
