Watching the documentary on Netflix, I like her, I’m quite surprised, not sure why!
She was so pretty back before the peroxide and implants

I used to love her, when I was growing up I was always in awe of her, especially in baywatch

Itwillallbeokayok · 31/01/2023 22:24

The Tommy element is interesting

I’ve just finished it. It was interesting about Tommy. She came across dare I say, normal

AngeloMysterioso · 01/02/2023 01:44

She still looks pretty incredible now.

I like her, she seems very sweet.

SavoirFlair · 01/02/2023 01:53

I remember her on cribs years and years ago, and her house was so beautiful and she came across as such a sweetie- in total contrast to the sexualised version of herself on magazine covers etc I remember it being a bit of a life lesson. Just because someone is always photographed a certain way doesn't actually mean they're anything like that as a person.

OMG12 · 01/02/2023 10:21

From what I understand she is a really nice, bright down to earth woman.

SpottyBumPony · 01/02/2023 10:28

She is very beautiful, full stop. She came across as a lovely person and a great mother. A romantic!

I really enjoyed the series

1000yellowdaisies · 01/02/2023 10:30

I have always thought she came across as really likeable. And yes she was absolutely stunning (still is tbf). I don't think the huge fake boobs did her any favours because it seemed to automatically label her a bimbo and they took away from her other gorgeous features.

catinboots123 · 01/02/2023 10:31

She's always been lovely. Haven't watched the doc yet but will do. Thanks for the reminder OP

Frankola · 01/02/2023 11:17

I watched it yesterday and felt like a horrible person afterwards because it made me realise I'd had such a bad perception of her before. I judged her as some blonde bimbo.

The documentary shows she's actually an absolute sweetheart. She's also really clever and funny. She just doesn't seem to care about money which has caused her a few issues. Her kids also came across as lovely boys.

PrincessGraceless · 01/02/2023 11:44

I saw her in panto once! Sending herself up and being sent up! (With a bit of panto-esque smut thrown in for good measure 😂)

Igotjelly · 01/02/2023 11:47

She comes across like an absolute sweetheart. She’s had such a tough time.

Lightninginabox · 01/02/2023 13:13

I thought this long interview was really good, she’s had the Britney treatment (why is it all your fault that you have boobs) etc:

Pamela Anderson: The only man to treat me with respect? Hugh Hefner

Idontknownemore · 01/02/2023 13:22

She’s always been a beautiful soul, her work for PETA and openness about DA (and now sexual abuse) has opened her up to real vulnerability and the media and sad souls ran with it.

She deserves a beautiful life with full contentment, she’s been treated appallingly for far too long 😞 The ‘Pam and Tommy’ series was like opening a wound for her, I never watched a second of it because it’s just another exploitation of a woman and her private moments being taken whether she likes it or not.

BankOfDave · 01/02/2023 13:24

She’s been treated appallingly re. how a private tape with her husband was handled. I’m still shocked someone was permitted to release that with no legal consequences.

Ponoka7 · 01/02/2023 13:27

She went for the part of Scully in the X files and the director etc treated her like a joke. I remember her saying that it was impossible to be cast in non sexualised acting roles. She always came across well in interviews.

Nixbox · 01/02/2023 13:28

@Idontknownemore i watched Pam and Tommy. I had very little recollection of what had happened to her beyond a sex tape being released. I didn’t remember it being stolen.
I was midway through the series when I read an article giving her thoughts on it and realised how intrusive it was - I suppose I thought of it as being a drama rather than based on actual events and had assumed that she had been involved in production.
It portrayed her as a nice person in my opinion, even showed Tommy to be nice enough at times. It showed how brave she had been in the face of very difficult circumstances and media intrusion.
But then I was left feeling uncomfortable that I had also intruded on her life…

AngryGoblin · 01/02/2023 13:56

I read the interview in The Times too and felt really sorry for her. She lost her virginity to rape at the age of 12 and then was gang raped by a boyfriend and his friends when she was a teenager. Her parents were shit to her. Poor woman.
And she had no say in that series.

BethDuttonsTwin · 01/02/2023 14:03

I always thought she must be pretty switched on as her kids turned out so well, and it wasn’t Tommy that made that happen.

BethDuttonsTwin · 01/02/2023 14:05

I watched one of her sons on a show once where he talked about his Dad and he said it was a thing that famous people often freeze emotionally and cognitively at the age they became famous and he thought this was definitely true for his Dad. It seemed remarkably insightful for a young man of his age.

Oblomov22 · 01/02/2023 14:32

Watched with Dh. Found it all odd. Don't normally like Lily James but thought she was good. Stunning figure. I liked the actor who played Gautier, the electrician that sold the tape. She seemed a bit childlike, dim, in the way she viewed love, and how she behaved every day. Like she never thought anything deeper, no thoughts on anything other than her here and now. How she was attracted to him I just can't get my head around. I bet she was a very good mum though.

Steviebrown · 01/02/2023 14:33

I've met her, she's really nice. Chatty and down to earth.

Idontknownemore · 01/02/2023 14:40

@Oblomov22 OP is talking about the documentary on Netflix not the series ‘Pam & Tommy’ on Disney+
