People noises

To think that "look at me" sneezes are completely unnecessary? Surely no one naturally sneezes loud enough for the windows to rattle?

See also, burps. I don't understand that anyone NEEDS to produce lip trembling burps like Barney in The Simpsons. Everyone can get a bit burpy sure, so no issues with that but why do some people seem to make such a performance out of it? Do they expect an applause when they mutter "excuse me" afterwards? No, I do not excuse you.

Yes I was in the office today and yes the list of why I hate other people noises is growing. I make none my myself you see.

JoonT.....so so agree. Any noise really irritates me. A local-ish garden centre (lovely teas) has started this incessant wail of talentless pop and now I refuse to go there. Annoyingly my son bought me a voucher for afternoon tea there as he knew it was a real treat, but the racket means I can't use it! Sorry, not really relevant to original post regarding sneezes (my DH could win gold at the sneeze olympics) but I felt I was the only person to find noise excruciating.

Do you think some of the noise intolerance is due to lock down? I know some of mine is that I'm just not used to being in a noisy office anymore. Things that might have been mildly irritating before, now infuriate me. 🤣

I've always hated shops that play loud music though. There is just no need.

On more than one occassion I've walked back out of a shop because of the music.

definitely.... I'm really intolerant of general office hubbub and noise now.

Bit of a derail but I used to enjoy all the chit chat and gossip and now I just find it an excruciating drain on productivity. I hate being interrupted to be shown a new item of clothing that someone is interested in or dragged into a bit of office gossip.

Have WFH most of the past four years and I now realise how incredibly time inefficient being in an office is. I really don't understand the logic that workers are more effective in an office.

I also hate people noises, especially burps and farts. Unfortunately my sneeze can wake the dead so I have had to tick yabu.

I found that once I turned forty, not only do I sneeze more, but it's a prolonged attack of anything between twelve and twenty loud sneezes in rapid succession, followed by a loud faaaarf as I blow my nose.
Then a couple more machine gun type sneezes and a bit more faaaarf.
Usually happens randomly a couple of times per week and completely uncontrollable.
