Benefits and bank switching

Aibu to ask those of you on benefits - I'm uc and pip - how easy or hard you found it to switch banks?

Been with mine over 15 years but customer service appalling and they're really messing me about on something just now and I've about had enough.

But I'm very nervous about switching having experienced hassle in the past when switching, especially with dwp!

I also have an arranged overdraft with current bank which I cannot clear right now but can in a couple months, if I switch to an account with a good bonus for switching that will go a good way to clearing overdraft too.

Which banks have you switched from/to?

So annoyed right now and feeling so stuck and beholden to current bank which I hate feeling!

I've found it easy enough. Just made sure the switch wasn't a week I was due benefits.

Yea that worries me too. Uc is same date every month but pip is 4 weekly.

How long did it take to all shake out? I'm v anxious about these things. Are you happy to say which banks ?

I had to take new bank card to job centre, when I switched my bank over.

That's a pain! But I get why. My assigned job centre is the nearest one to me mileage wise but a pain to get to on public transport!
