That I am in my late thirties and twice this week been asked if i live at home with parents or alone?

The people to embarrassed are those who are asking, not you. First, it’s none of their business. Second, some people think that it’s impossible to have a meaningful adult life without a live-in partner. That’s their problem, not yours. They probably just want to feel smug about their own situation.

Yes but the living alone thing too. Why do people assume that and not living witn friends etc? Just hard not to feel paranoid
